About the artist:
As a recent breast cancer surviver, she finds great joy in being well enough to paint again. She is filled with renewed passion for her art and for the dawning of each new day.
Carolyn Breaux was born & raised in south Louisiana and presently lives in Baton Rouge. She has been painting since the age of 14. Her undergraduate and post graduate work were in education and she continues to enjoy teaching art workshops. She has studied with many fine artists including Betty Edwards, Leonard Wren, Michael del Priore, Judy Betts, Kim English and others. She is certified to teach Betty Edwards’ Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain Workshop and also teaches an introduction to color and painting established by Betty Edwards. Her work has been shown in the Louisiana State Archives, Lamps & Lighting, and the Louisiana State University’s Burden Orangerie and in many private collections. She has been inspired by her beautiful natural surroundings and the magic of light. She enjoys the intensity & radiance of oils and has chosen that as her medium of choice.
